Auburn in the NFL Draft
What a difference a year makes.
The NFL draft came and went. Congratulations to Marcus McNeill (San Diego), Ben Obamanu (Seattle), Devin Aromashodu, and Stanley McClover (Carolina). “The Predator” will be a good pick up for Carolina. He is an excellent situational pass rusher and will make a name for himself. Especially, if he is on the opposite side of the line from Peppers. After being projected in the 3rd or 4th round it is a little surprising that teams waited on him, but he is not particularly big and for that reason he will be somewhat useless against the run.
Several other players made it onto the free agent signing list of some teams: Anthony Mix (Giants), Jake Slaughter (Chiefs), Travis Williams (Atlanta), and Tommy Jackson (Atlanta). Antarrious Williams and Cooper Wallace are also expected to get free agent deals. McNeill and McClover will need to prove themselves in drills and at camp. For Obamanu, Aromashodu, and the others, they better like special teams. You would like to see all these guys catch on, but it won’t happen. Good luck to all of them and thanks for the memories.
