The Experts are Idiots....

Yep, pretty much. Sure Detroit made mistakes, sure the Cardinals were fortunate. And yes, the Cardinals are a flawed team. However, they played the way their fans (including me) thought they could play in October. There were a lot of injuries this year that contributed to the poor record and the tailspin at the end of the season. When it truly mattered the TEAM finally stepped up. The reason no one, including every person outside of that lockeroom, thought the Redbirds could win it was because they would have to do something that hadn't done all year...play as a team. Not nine guys individually trying to win, but nine guys collectively trying to win. That means picking a guy up when he had failed (i.e. Weaver not freaking out when Duncan completely misplays a ball last night) and making something happen for the team. Plus, for all the experts and haters out there, if you think this team wasn't deserving, consider these facts. In the last six years, this has been the best team in the National League. It isn't even close. Four divisions titles, two penants, and a World title. That is a pretty gaudy resume.

So, congratulations Tony LaRussa and the St. Louis Cardinals, you did what no one thought you could do. You shocked the world. You allowed every Cardinals fan to join you on a wonderful, magical October ride that no one will ever forget. You have nothing to apologize for, no reason to feel like you stole something that isn't yours. You won the World Series and you won it for yourselves and your fans.

World Champs Baby!!!!! World Series Champs!!!!!!
