POWER POLL - Week #1

First a little explanation…..

This poll reflects my thoughts on who is playing the best in the conference, RIGHT NOW (which means little since the season hasn't started, but you get the point). This is not a list of who will be playing in the SEC Championship, but I will try to keep some perspective. I was not a big fan of the “Auburn is probably the best team in the SEC” commentary at the end of last season. Hey Auburn lost to LSU on the field. Last time I checked, that counted for something. Prior to the SEC championship game, I probably would have put LSU first, Auburn second, and Georgia third. After the SEC Championship game…..wow, tough one. Well, let’s just see how this all works out, okay?

Power Poll – Week 1

  1. Florida (0-0, 0-0) – Great talent, solid defense, good coaching. Can Leak step up? Last Game: None, Up Next: Southen Miss

  2. LSU (0-0, 0-0) - Can JaMarcus Russell hit the broadside of a barn this year? Last Game: None, Up Next: UL-Lafayette

  3. Auburn (0-0, 0-0) - How long before the defense gets steamrolled for 250 on the ground? Last Game: None, Up Next: Washington State

  4. Tennessee (0-0, 0-0) - You better show me something against California Big Orange. Last Game: None, Up Next: California

  5. Georgia (0-0, 0-0) - The Dawgs are hear because I respect Mark Richt a lot. Last Game: None, Up Next: Western Kentucky

  6. Arkansas (0-0, 0-0) - Just one request, keep it a little closer this year, okay? Last Game: None, Up Next: Southern Cal

  7. South Carolina (0-0, 0-0) - How about one win in Starkville Spurrier, just one? Last Game: None, Up Next: Mississippi State

  8. Alabama (0-0, 0-0) - Will this guy show up to cheer the Rainbow Warriors? Last Game: None, Up Next: Hawaii

  9. Ole Miss (0-0, 0-0) - Over/Under on the number of quarterback draws from Ole Miss? 15. Last Game: None, Up Next: Memphis

  10. Kentucky (0-0, 0-0) - Louisville scores getting off the bus. Definitely not step #1 in the Save Rich Brooks' Job Manual. Last Game: None, Up Next: Louisville

  11. Mississippi State (0-0, 0-0) - Florida in 2004. South Carolina in 2006? Last Game: None, Up Next: South Carolina.

  12. Vanderbilt (0-0, 0-0) - Man Jay Cutler looked great the other night didn't he? Of course it was the Texans defense. Well, similar to Tennessee's defense last year. Last Game: None, Up Next: Michigan.
