College Football Review - Week 1

  1. Note to California, if you want to beat someone, you have to tackle.

  2. Damn the Big 12 is weak. Other than Texas, there are no other teams. Colorado loses to Montana State. Oklahoma struggles to beat a Hackney-less UAB. Texas A&M had the most unimpressive 35-3 win I have ever seen. Nebraska struggled early before finally realizing that if they run the football against La Tech, they will win. Iowa State struggles to beat Toledo. I looked this morning and Texas is 12 to 1 to win the BCS title game. I would take that. Even if they lose to Ohio State, the Longhorns will be in Tempe. The only team they face that will come close in the Big 12 is Oklahoma because it’s the only team that has a defense that might be able to stop the running game and confuse McCoy. Honestly, I looked at their schedule. They will be favored in all of their remaining games.

  3. Don’t get too excited about your defense just yet Notre Dame. If Chan Gailey and Pat Nix don’t turn into limp-wristed sissy boys on Saturday night, you might have stumbled back to South Bend 0-1. Seriously, Nix and Gailey needed to be in New Orleans this past weekend.

  4. I thought it was going to be different this time Arkansas? What the hell? Do you want a do over Phil Steele?

  5. Kevin Scarbinsky is drinking the Kool-Aid. Since when did Hawaii become a juggernaut of college football? It was a nice win that wasn’t as close as it looked, but come on.

  6. Tom O’Brien needs to teach his team to put someone away. Oh and answer me this Brian Kelly, you are tearing BC up and you run a trick play, WTF? On 1st and 10, no less and you go with a swinging gate formation that gives your quarterback no protection? I’m confused. A trick play is one thing, but run a good trick play. Did you watch Ole Miss run the little trick play against Memphis yesterday? That is a good trick play. What you did was idiocy.

  7. What are Florida State and Miami paying ESPN for the coverage tonight? After last year, you would think the Worldwide Leader wouldn't get suckered in for more. Let's just hope the game is good. Otherwise, the wife will have me watching Grey's Anatomy.
