Junior Vs Madden - Week 2

It's Junior vs. Madden. We used Madden 2007 on our Xbox 360 and simulated week two of the NFL Season. We'll take who beat the spread according to Madden, and then compare that with my guesses, to see who’s smarter: Junior Justice or John Madden. Only taking the games where we were different.

Carolina vs Minnesota – The Panthers are a 2 point favorite on the road at Minnesota. Madden picked this one 27-17 in favor of the Vikings. I think despite losing last week, Carolina is one of the top three teams in the NFC, so I'm going with the Panthers to win.

Tampa Bay vs Atlanta – Atlanta is a 6 point favorite to the road Bucs. Madden believes that not only with the Bucs cover, but they'll win straight up, 23-16. I disagree, Tampa has the Cadillac and decent receivers, but their QB is terrible. I like Atlanta to cover this one.

NY Giants Vs Philadelphia – Giants are 3 point underdogs on the road vs the Eagles. Madden predicts a Giants victory 17-10. Maybe it's because I saw "Invincible" last night, and I'm clouded with Eagles Images, but I think Philly will win.

New Orleans vs Green Bay – I'm not sure what kind of strange drugs that the programmers in EA Sports were taking when they wrote the code for this game, but it obviously is for sale on the streets of Vegas, as the odds makers have made the Saints a 2 point favorite. On the Road. Against Brett Favre. I wouldn't bet against Favre, unless he was playing the Bandit (but don't tell Daddy). Madden says Saints 30 - Packers 21. I disagree, Packers win this game.

Houston vs Indianapolis – Houston visits the Colts and are 13.5 dogs. Madden expects the Colts to win, but for the Texans to cover, losing 21-20. I normally don't like anything to do with spreads this large in the pros, but I have a feeling that Manning and Harrison are going to have a big big day. Indy covers.

Arizona vs Seattle – Certainly one of the teams that raised some eyebrows last week, the Cardinals head to Seattle as 7 point dogs in a early NFC West match up. Madden expects the Cardinals to cover, losing 24-19. I think Shawn Alexander wakes up, and has at least 2 TDs, helping Seattle cover. Unless it's the Madden cover jinx working against me.

Washington vs Dallas – My favorite rivalry in the NFL. Dallas is a 6 point favorite on the Redskins. Daddy is going to side with Madden on this one, as he predicts the Skins to win straight up, 31-20. I disagree. I think the Redskins underachieve more than any other team in the NFL. I expect Dallas to cover in this one.
