Week 2 Review - The Prelude to "Show Down Saturday"

  1. Is that chair getting hot Chuckie Red Shoes? On that note, is there anything more obvious than the NC State upset of Florida State on October 5th? Former Bowden assistant/relative looking for a big win to get the season turned around and save his job. Where have I read this script before?

  2. Are we all convinced now that neither Florida State or Miami deserve to be in the top ten?

  3. By the way Kirk and Brent, calling Bob Davie “Coach” is really a stretch.

  4. One thing I have noticed, the top of college football is pretty close. But after you get past about the top ten or twelve teams, there is a big drop-off. At least that is the way it seems at this point in the season, which is admittedly early. Take the SEC for example. There is a pretty distinct division between Auburn, Florida, and Louisiana State and Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina. I know Ole Miss isn’t the greatest team in the world, but losing 34-7 to Missouri is a little ridiculous.

  5. I don’t have a problem with Notre Dame jumping Auburn in the polls. They played a better opponent and won convincingly. The polls should be a reflection of who is playing better at a singular point in time. Now, pollsters, let’s just remember that and stay consistent for the rest of the season.

  6. Most impressive team yesterday? Notre Dame. That was exactly how you are supposed to look against an inferior team. Notre Dame looked like one of the top five teams in the nation yesterday. That is more than I could say last week against Georgia Tech.

  7. Who would have ever thought Ohio State students would set fire to couches in celebration of a big victory? Not me, no sir. I never would have thought the classy fans of The Ohio State University would do something like that.

  8. I really like what I’m seeing from Georgia’s defense. A shutout against Steve Spurrier? Very impressive. The offense? Next question.

  9. Does anyone want to play the Scarlet Knights right now? Yeah laugh all you want about the fact that they played Illinois, but man they have some athletes and I love what they do on both sides of the ball. Congratulations Greg Schiano, you are earning yourself a big paycheck from some big time college program.

  10. Why do I have this feeling that Gameday will be at Michigan-Notre Dame instead of what will be the slobberknocker of the week, LSU-Auburn? And why will I not be surprised?

  11. Next Saturday is an orgasm of college football delight. You have Auburn-LSU, Florida-Tennessee, Michigan-Notre Dame, Miami-Louisville, Nebraska-Southern Cal, and Oklahoma-Oregon all in the same day. Almost makes me sad that I will be in Auburn next weekend at the game. Almost.
