The Saturday Review - Week #6
Wonderful weekend for watching college football wasn’t it? Sorry the review is a little light, after the butt-whooping that Auburn got from Arkansas, I needed to go for a long walk.
LSU just doesn’t play smart. Dropped passes, fumbled snaps, stupid pass plays. Bo Pelini going with three down lineman when Florida is up by 16 and likely to run the ball, run the ball, run the ball. Oh and I didn’t mention not passing into the endzone on the last play of a game.
- I have to say that Colt McCoy impressed me. I really didn’t think he would step up today, but he did. Of course, Aaron Ross won that game for Texas and also assured himself of being taken in the first three rounds in April. Oh and like I said after they lost to Ohio State, Texas will be 11-1 (make that 12-1) come December 4th. I’m telling you, expect them to be in Glendale.
- While the defense may not be as good as originally thought, Missouri is a pretty good team. They should be ranked close to #15 this week. It looks like the game on November 4th in Lincoln will be for the Big 12 North.
- Wow, Oregon, I thought your defense was better than that. Pretty scary that California probably cost itself an appearance in the national title game by not being prepared for Tennessee.
- Speaking of the Vols, mark my words. If you make those mistakes against a team with an actual offense, you will lose. Unless it’s LSU because they will find a way to lose the game as well. As for Georgia, I remain unimpressed. I know it is easy to say that, but the Dawgs don’t have enough offense or defense to beat Florida, Auburn, or Georgia Tech. Plus, that game in Lexington looks pretty difficult right now. It probably won’t be, but if you are a Georgia fan, you are probably a little scared right now.
- Oh and Georgia, don't think I didn't see you copying the Auburn Tigers and walking out of the tunnel arm and arm. All I have to say is "Click ... Clack."
