POWER POLL - Week #4

Seperation Saturday gave us some movement in the poll, but not where you would think. I’m still high on LSU and Tennessee. Both were impressive in their respective losses and both showed poor game plans in those losses.

Power Poll – Week 4

1. Florida (3-0, 1-0) – Probably a little ahead of Auburn in terms of offense right now, but it is very close. Last Game: Beat Tennessee 21-20, Up Next: Kentucky.
2. Auburn (3-0, 2-0) – Defense is playing well. The offense needs to pick it up to continue to win games. Last Game: Beat LSU 7-3, Up Next: Buffalo.
   
3. LSU (2-1, 0-1) – The official “Matt Flynn Starting Quarterback” pool is open. I say give it to the Florida game. One question Jimbo, where was the vertical passing game? Last Game: Lost to Auburn 7-3, Up Next: Tulane.
   
4. Georgia (3-0, 1-0) – Officially in waiting mode for October 7th when the Vols come to town. Until then, they don’t move up and they don’t move down. Last Game: Beat Alabama-Birmingham 34-0, Up Next: Colorado.
   
5. Tennessee (2-1,0-1) – You just lost to a better team. Sometimes that happens. No shame in losing to a better team. Last Game: Lost to Florida 21-20, Up Next: Marshall.
   
6. Alabama (3-0, 1-0) – A good showing against UL-Monroe. Big game this weekend against Arkansas. Last Game: Beat UL-Monroe 41-7, Up Next: at Arkansas.
   
7. Arkansas (2-1, 0-0) – Well, let’s see what you have Houston Nutt, Gus Malzahn, Mitch Mustain, and Darren McFadden. This one is for third place in the SEC West. You better show up. Last Game: Beat Vanderbilt 21-19, Up Next: Alabama.
   
8. Kentucky (2-1, 1-0) – Very impressive win against Ole Miss. Now, you just have to keep your head on straight and try to do the same in Gainesville. Last Game: Beat Mississippi 31-14, Up Next: Florida.
   
9. Vanderbilt (0-3, 0-2) – Just keep believing. You are going to beat some teams this year. Last Game: Lost to Arkansas 21-19, Up Next:Tennessee State.
   
10. South Carolina (2-1, 1-1) – Barely beating Wofford isn’t going to cut it. Is the honeymoon over Steve?Last Game: Beat Wofford 27-20, Up Next: Florida Atlantic.
    
11. Mississippi (1-2, 0-1) – I warned you that Kentucky was good enough to beat you. Now, you are playing for worst in the conference honors. Please don’t defame the good name of the SEC and lose to Wake Forest. Last Game: Lost to Kentucky 31-14, Up Next: Wake Forest.
    
12. Mississippi State (0-3, 0-2) – I think you are looking at 1-11 Bulldogs. Hey, at least the offense scored. Last Game: Lost to Tulane 32-29, Up Next: Alabama-Birmingham.
